Our History:

In 1927 a small group of hunting and fishing enthusiasts bought a piece of ground and formed the North Penn Gun Club. The original clubhouse was no more than a chicken coop. In 1929 the club was incorporated and a charter was setup as the North Penn Gun Club, Inc. , as it is known today. In the 1930's a liquor license was obtained from the State. Charles Oberley was in the forefront of obtaining that license. Charles went on to becoming one of our longest active members, and was a friendly face at the Gun Club until his passing. As the years went on, more ground was purchased and a new clubhouse was built. That original building is part of the structure that exists today.  As the years went on more and more ground was purchased one lot at a time and we had just short of 22 acres of property. Then In 2021 we purchased the adjacent property adding 13 acres making the total acreage just short of 35. In 1953 the Oaklane Quarter Midget Club was created. Two long time members, Harry Ahlum and Earl Rodenberger, were instrumental in getting the track up and running. Also in the 1950's softball was brought into the picture and one of our past Presidents, Bob Hafler, was very much involved in that venture. It started with one ballfield and later two more fields were added to the current three field facility that now exists. In the 1970's a large addition was added to the original building with a new kitchen and dining and banquet hall. Thanks to our forefathers of the club, we have the nice facility that now exists today.

We currently have around 2000 members, and have banquet and party rental facilities to accomodate 125 people. We also have a picnic grove which we rent out for family and civic affairs. We also have a rifle range and archery range which is available to all members (range card is required) . Our dining facility is currently open to all members and their guests Tuesday thru Saturday nights.

Our current activities at the club to name a few are Band and DJ nights, The Richland Area Softball Association (RASA) plays on the fields during the spring, summer, and fall, Oaklane Race Club races at the track every Saturday during the summer. Oaklane Race Club also holds their monthly meetings at the club. The Trumbauersville Lions Club also meets at our facility twice a month. We also have a very active Ladies Aux. at the club. They hold many fund raising activities during the year to help support the club.
